You can’t miss this opportunity to fully experience one of the most magnificent waterfall systems in the world! After boarding a shared vehicle, you will be taken one and a half miles (two-kilometers) along the rainforests edge and Iguazú River coast. From there, sail three-miles (five-kilometers) up the river on a semi-rigid boat, struggling through the rapids, contemplating from the river-bed the majesty of water dropping from the different waterfalls and then, start making your way back. Tourist guides are in charge of explaining all concerning the tour. It is advisable to change clothes after this excursion and to wear raincoats. It gets quite wet!

On this tour, one may get to the marvelous Brazilian falls, by walking through the wooden footbridges elevated over the river. Take photographs of the breathtaking panoramic views from the observation deck. A 40 min walk to admire the series of astonishing cascades up to the foot of “Floriano Fall”. At the end of the path, an elevator brings visitors up. Crossing the Tancredo Neves bridge in the Iguaçú River, we get into the Argentinean National Park – a very nice ride through exuberant tropical flora. Guests are encouraged to get close to the falls, up to the famous Devil’s Throat, the most impressive of the water falls, surrounded by deep jungle and different rare species of tropical birds and animals. A fantastic scenery decorated with rainbows appearing here and there, from the reflection of the numerous falls and the sparkling spray of their water show. Inside the Park, visitors may choose among several paths leading to exciting sights between the different falls, to admire them from above or from below.

A great assortment of included activities are planned by the lodge and await you during your stay. A snapshot of what you may experience: nocturnal wildlife-spotting excursions by motorized canoe in search of sloths, caimans, snakes and more, an exploration tour of the many channels, lakes and islands of the Anavilhanas Archipelago, an educational jungle hike through the mainland woods, a visit to an area frequented by Amazonian dolphins, recreational piranha fishing, canoeing the Rio Negro, and visiting a local community in Tiririca.
Note: The order of the tours is defined by the Anavilhanas Lodge, which will supply the schedule of the activities upon guests’ arrival. Guests with pick-up at the airport between 11am and 2pm will not be able to attend the afternoon tour of the first day. Guests with return flights scheduled from 1pm to 7pm will not be able to attend the morning tour of the last day.

Enjoy the amazing scenery and catch some fish on an exciting recreational piranha fishing excursion today, done in wooden canoes along the igarapés. Known for their incredibly sharp teeth and powerful jaws, piranhas are only found in South American rivers.
